St Mary’s, Maharashtra Mandal, Vidyanchal, Dastur into semis at Deccan Elite Cup Basketball Tournament 2026

Pune, 11th April 2026: St Mary’s, Maharashtra Mandal, Vidyanchal, Dastur entered into semifinal round of girls event at the 1st Edition of Deccan Elite Cup Basketball Tournament 2026, organized by Deccan Gymkhana and played at the Basketball Court of Deccan Gymkhana, Pune.

In the girls’ quarterfinals, St Mary’s registered a hard-fought 48-37 victory over Chonde Patil. Despite trailing 11-13 at halftime, St Mary’s bounced back strongly in the second half. Anvita Aakhegaonkar (13 points) and Eshal Rathod (16 points) led the charge for the winners, while Maitrey Shah and Irani Jadhav scored 8 points each for Chonde Patil.

Maharashtra Mandal advanced to the semifinals with a convincing 45-27 win over Falcons. Anushka Shukla starred with 22 points, supported by Sakshi Vyas with 13 points. Falcons’ resistance came through Kriyaa Kaushik (12 points) and Riya Bornale (10 points). Maharashtra Mandal held a narrow 14-11 lead at halftime before pulling away.

Vidyanchal edged past Deccan Gymkhana A 52-45 in a closely contested encounter. Lillian Jacob delivered an outstanding performance with 31 points, while Tanrika Chakravarti added 8 points. Deccan Gymkhana A had led 25-18 at halftime, but Vidyanchal staged a strong comeback in the second half. Anusha Sontakke (17 points) and Hetvi Amin (9 points) were the key contributors for the losing side.

In another match, Dastur defeated Deccan Gymkhana B 54-38. Rudrani Halighongde scored 19 points and Arianna Shinde added 9 points for the winners. Deccan Gymkhana B was led by Siya Bhosale (21 points) and Anagha Karve (8 points). Dastur overturned a narrow 20-22 halftime deficit to seal the win.

In the boys’ quarterfinals, ABC secured a comfortable 49-26 win over Vidyanchal. Daksh Sharma top-scored with 18 points, while Abhiraj Bhati contributed 8 points. Shaurya Dalvi scored 14 points for Vidyanchal. ABC dominated early, taking a 25-13 lead at halftime and maintaining control throughout.
