Stranded Teen Rescued From River Near Mundhwa Bridge In Pune

Mundhwa, 20th March 2025: A 19-year-old youth who was stranded in the middle of the river near Mundhwa Bridge was successfully rescued by the Pune Fire Brigade. The incident occurred around 6:18 am when the fire department control room received a distress call reporting the youth’s plight.
Upon receiving the alert, a fire rescue team from the BT Kawade Road fire station was immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the firefighters found the youth struggling to stay afloat in the middle of the river, attempting to reach the shore.
The rescue team quickly deployed safety gear, including ropes, life jackets, and life rings. One of the firefighters waded into the river, reassured the youth, and maintained communication with him throughout the operation. Within just 15 minutes, the team successfully brought the youth to safety and handed him over to his parents, who were present at the location.
The reason behind how the youth ended up in the river remains unclear.
The rescue operation was carried out by driver Nilesh Bhosale, team leader Ambadas Darade, and firefighters Sandeep Jagtap, Satish Potghan, and Kunal Ithape.
