A rice plantation program took place on 1st August in Vinzar village, about 50 km from Pune, in Velhe taluka, of Pune district.

Rice plantation program is organized every year by Nandu Phadke, Vanarai which works for integrated development of rural India. Around 700 students from Fergusson College and MMCC participated in this program. Some teachers joined in too.

As the farmers have to hire workers for field work these students work for them free of cost which helps them save money and get a great yield at the same time. Transport and food for the students, was provided by Vanarai itself.

One day spent for these farmers undoubtedly causes a great difference in both the farmers and the students’ life.
