Students Will Now Get NCC Training At Pune University

Pune, 4th October 2022: The students of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) will be able to take National Cadet Corps (NCC) training along with the curriculum. The university has approved an NCC batch of 100 students, and the students will get four credit points from this training.

 

The batch was approved on a self-financing basis by the university. Approximately 35 students will be admitted to NCC in the next three years. This will include 33 per cent girls. One of the six groups under the Directorate of Maharashtra NCC is headquartered in Pune. Therefore, the university batch was approved under this unit.

All expenses of this batch will have to be borne by the university itself. An NCC officer will be appointed by the university to train the students. Students who will successfully complete the training will be awarded B and C certificates and also be selected for the National Residential Camp.

 

Dr Sanjeev Sonawane, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Savitribai Phule Pune University said, “Graduate level students will get an opportunity to undergo NCC training through this centre.”
