Study Being Carried Out Regarding Opening Of Colleges In Maharashtra: Uday Samant

Pune, January 25, 2021: The Chief Secretary of Maharashtra is studying the feasibility of reopening colleges in the state. The guidelines are being framed for how many students and professors can be called to the college every day. It will be completed in 4 to 5 days and we will decide about the same after discussing with the Chief Minister, said education minister Uday Samant.

A program of Prabodhan Mahotsav was organized at Balgandharva auditorium in Pune on Sunday (24th January). After the program, Samant interacted with the media and told them about the opening of colleges are yet to be decided.

Samant said, “Though the vaccination is going on, covid-19 infection is still there. The online-offline education system is being continued till the situation comes to normal.”

Admission process till Feb 15

“The University Grant Commission (UGC) asked to complete the admission procedure of the first-year course till 31st January 2021, but it will go till 15th February 2021. After which the courses will be conducted during March, April and May and the exam will be conducted post this period. The time table will be drawn by universities”, Samant informed.

Balasaheb Thackeray chair will be set up at Pune University

“A Balasaheb Thackeray chair will be set up in Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). We are also planning to include a lesson on Balasaheb Thackeray in school syllabus”, Samant added.
