Sugandhi Trust Awards Tennis Scholarships to Rising Stars Swanika Roy and Shravee Deore
Pune, 7th April 2026: The Swikar Sugandhi Tennis Scholarship for the year 2026 was awarded to two promising young players, Swanika Roy and Shravee Deore, in recognition of their outstanding performances on the junior tennis circuit. Each player received a scholarship of ₹50,000. The scholarships were presented by Rekha Sugandhi.
Among those present on the occasion were Anil Kumar Bhor, Navsahyadri Society Sports Committee member Nitin Deolekar, Umesh Bhide, along with representatives from Aim Tennis Academy Anaya Thorat and Avyakta Thorat.
Swanika Roy, currently ranked No. 5 in the All India Under-16 category, has been one of the most consistent performers in her age group. She has achieved notable success across several international and national tournaments. Her highlights include winning the doubles title at the ITF J60 Dehradun and finishing as a doubles finalist at the ITF J60 Gurugram. She also clinched the singles title and was a doubles finalist at the ITF J30 Colombo (Sri Lanka). Additionally, Swanika finished runner-up in singles and won the doubles title at the Jalandhar National Series Under-18. She also emerged as doubles champion and singles finalist at the Kolhapur Under-16 Nationals.
Shravee Deore has also made her mark as one of the top junior players in the country. She is currently ranked among the Top 10 in the AITA Girls Under-14 category, with a career-best ranking of No. 7, and holds the No. 1 rank in Maharashtra in her age group. Shravee won a bronze medal in the singles event at the National School Games (Girls U-17) held in Ajmer, Rajasthan. She also secured a silver medal representing Team Maharashtra at the same event.
The Swikar Sugandhi Tennis Scholarship aims to support and encourage emerging tennis players by providing financial assistance to help them pursue excellence at higher levels of the sport.
