Sunil Kamble Triumphs In Pune Cantonment, Defeats Congress’ Ramesh Bagwe
Camp, 23rd November 2024: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Sunil Kamble has emerged victorious from the Pune Cantonment constituency, defeating former Minister of State for Home Affairs, Ramesh Bagwe. As of 12:45 PM, Kamble had a lead of 4,251 votes, mathematically securing his win.
With 2.90 lakh registered voters in the Pune Cantonment constituency and a voter turnout of 52.85%, the counted votes were sufficient to declare Kamble the winner by midday. The Pune Cantonment constituency is reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC).
Despite facing significant anti-incumbency sentiment in the run-up to the elections, Kamble managed to overcome the challenge. The contest, expected to be a close battle with Indian National Congress candidate Ramesh Bagwe, ended with Kamble gaining the upper hand and securing a decisive victory.
