Supreme Court Dismisses Plea Param Bir Singh, Asks Him To Approach Bombay High Court

New Delhi, 24 March 2021: The Supreme Court has refused to hear the plea of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh. The Supreme Court has said asked him to approach the High Court. However, the apex court said that the allegations leveled are serious. Param Bir Singh had accused the Home Minister of Maharashtra Anil Deshmukh of corruption and demanded a probe by the CBI. Apart from this, he has also challenged his transfer. Param Bir Singh withdrew his petition following the apex court’s order.
Regarding the petition of Param Bir Singh, the Supreme Court said that the allegations are serious, but you should have gone to the High Court first. Apart from this, the Supreme Court said that why have you not made Anil Deshmukh a party in this case.
Now soon a petition can be filed on behalf of Param Bir Singh in the Bombay High Court. Even though the Supreme Court has refused to hear the plea, it is in a way to raise the concerns of the Maharashtra government, calling the allegations serious.
The Supreme Court said that it is unfortunate that the decision given on police reforms has not been implemented. This issue arises only when any political situation worsens.
A dispute arose after the suspicious Scorpio car was found outside Mukesh Ambani’s house on the evening of February 25 and the explosives were found in it. After this, the murder of Mansukh Hiran, a person associated with the car, was revealed. In this case, Mumbai Police officer Sachin Vaze has been arrested by the NIA.
The Maharashtra government then suspended Vaze and transferred Param Bir Singh from the post of Mumbai Police Commissioner to the DG Homeguards. After the transfer, Singh wrote a letter to CM Uddhav Thackeray, accusing Home Minister Anil Deshmukh that he had asked Vaze to recover Rs 100 crore hafta from restaurant bars and hotels in Mumbai every month.
