Pune, 08th January 2026: Baramati MP Supriya Sule has reiterated demands regarding railway services connected to Marathwada and Pune, calling for permanency of the Pune–Harangul train, fare rationalisation, development of Murud Railway Station, and reconsideration of the proposed shift of train terminals from Pune Junction to Hadapsar.

Sule highlighted that the 01487/01488 Pune–Harangul train operating on the Latur–Pune route has been running on an experimental basis for two years, receiving strong passenger response. However, as the service remains experimental, fares are significantly higher than regular trains. If made permanent, fares are expected to reduce by nearly 30 percent, benefiting daily commuters and long-distance travelers.

She also referred to a proposal submitted to the General Manager, Central Railway, Mumbai, seeking “B” category status for Murud Railway Station, along with ₹47 crore for essential amenities and a loop line. The demand has been raised repeatedly by local citizens, and a representation in this regard has been submitted.

In another statement, Sule expressed concern over the railway decision to shift the terminal of 17629/17630 Nanded–Pune and 01487/01488 Harangul–Pune Daily Express trains to Hadapsar from January 26, 2026. She stated that thousands of passengers from Marathwada depend on these services for work, education, and healthcare. Sule noted that the arrival time of around 4:15 am at Hadapsar would cause hardship due to lack of transport services at that hour and urged restoration of Pune Junction or Khadki as the terminal.

Meanwhile, the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Pune, stated on social media that the proposal to shift the terminals to Hadapsar was taken after considering constraints related to rake lie-over time, maintenance requirements, and platform availability. The DRM said the move was aimed at preventing cancellations and improving operational efficiency.

The DRM also stated that Hadapsar station is being developed as a modern coaching terminal under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, with the intention of managing increasing traffic, reducing congestion at Pune Junction, and improving service capacity.
