Survey Of 15 Roads To Control Traffic Jams In Pune; Committee To Include Officials Of Police, PMC, Metro, PMPML

Pune, 1st February 2023: The problem of traffic in the city is getting complicated day by day, a survey will be conducted by the traffic police, municipal corporation, metro, and PMPML to break the deadlock on 15 congested roads in the city. After the survey, measures will be taken to solve the problem of congested roads.

A meeting was organized at the Police Commissionerate on Tuesday (January 31) to solve the traffic problems in the city. Commissioner of Police Retesh Kumaarr, Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik, Deputy Commissioner of Police Traffic Branch Vijay Kumar Magar along with PMPML, Mahametro, Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), Smart City officials were present on this occasion. In this meeting, traffic jams in the city and solutions were discussed.

The number of vehicles in the city is increasing. The increasing number of vehicles is adding to the dilemma. Metro work is going on in some areas. Roads in many areas have been encroached upon. Due to this, the officials noted in the observation meeting that there is chaos in the city.

Officials of the Police, Municipal Corporation, PMPML, Metro, and other organizations will work together to solve the problem in the city. Accordingly, in the first phase, 15 congested roads in the city will be selected. These roads will be inspected and surveyed. Information about bus stops, signals, and footpaths on those roads will be collected. The causes of traffic jams will be found and measures will be taken.

After inspecting the congested roads in the city, the cause of the traffic jam and measures will be taken. A committee comprising representatives from Police, Municipal Corporation, PMPML, Metro, and other organizations will be formed. The officers of this committee will coordinate and work together.

Police Commissioner Kumaarr said, “In the first phase, 15 congested roads have been selected. The measures will be taken to improve traffic by inspecting other roads in the city in a phased manner.”
