‘Swarparva’ to feature young artists from the Indian Classical Music

Pune, 27th December 2021: Aficionados of music in the city can look forward to welcoming the New Year with the concert of some young, promising artists who are ready to shoulder the responsibility of carrying forward the rich tradition of Indian Classical Music. The ‘Swarparva’ program being organized by city based Taalanubhuti Foundation with support from Rohan Builders will feature such artists where the average age of all performing artists is about 25 years. The program shall take place at MES Auditorium, BSM School Campus at Mayur Colony, Kothrud, Pune at 4:30pm on January 2nd, 2022. Entry to this program is free on a first come first serve basis. All Covid19 protocols set by the state government shall be followed during the concert.

 

The program will feature, Ishaan Ghosh (Tabla Solo), Mahtab Ali Niazi (Sitar) and Viraj Joshi (Vocal). These artists shall be accompanied by Aashay Kulkarni (Tabla), Saurabh Kshirsagar (Tabla), Abhishek Shinkar (Harmonium), Swanand Kulkarni (Harmonium) and Shivaji Dake (Side rhythm).

 

Mehtab Ali Niazi is a 24 years old Sitar player from the Bhendi Bazar Moradabad Gharana. Son and disciple of acclaimed Sitar Player Ustaad Mohsin Ali Khan Mehtab gave his first performance at the tender age of 6 years during a program organized to mark the birthday celebration of Pt. Birju Maharaj and received wide appreciation for the same.

 

Eighteen years old vocalist Viraj Joshi is a grandson of Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi. He has been taking lessons in music from his father Shrinivas Joshi since the age of 8 years. So far he has performed in over 100 concerts in the country and in about 25 concerts abroad in countries like the US, England and Australia. He is the recipient of the prestigious Bharat Ratna M. S Subbulakshmi fellowship awarded by the Mumbai based Shanmukhananda Sabha.

 

Ishaan Ghosh is the young sensation from the well known Ghosh family from the world of Indian Classical Music. Son and disciple of Sitar and Tabla Maestro Pandit Nayan Ghosh, Ishan is a recipient of many prestigious accolades. Grandson of Padma Bhushan Pandit Nikhil Ghosh, a celebrated Tabla maestro from the 20th century 21 years old Ishaan is the grand nephew of Flautist Pandit Pannalal Ghosh. Ishaan has already started creating waves in the music circles and his performances are being praised by the audiences.
