SwarZankar Festval Day 2 Concludes With Performances By Indian Classical Musicians

Pune, January 6: The second day of ‘SwaraZankar’ Festival organized by Violin Academy at Pandit Farms in Karve Nagar today starts and concludes with interesting performances by Indian Classical Musicians.

Riveting performances by Indian Classical Vocalists and Musicians on the second-day of SwaraZankar organized by Violin Academy and presented by Bedekar Group gripped the audience’s attention like never before. Held at Pandit Farms in Karve Nagar, the festival in its 14th edition started with the performance of by internationally acclaimed vocalist Nabanita Chowdhary, a disciple of late Pandit Rajan and Pandit Sajan Mishra who performed ‘Sakhi Kaise Jau’ from Raag Madhuvanti in Bada Khyal and ‘Phul Bandh Sej Bichhau…’ in Chhota Khyal. She concluded her performance with the Bhajan ‘Bhakti Ki Rasna Shyam Naam Hai, Prem Ki Rasna Radha…’. She was accompanied by Bharat Kamat (Tabla), Suyog Kundalkar (Harmonium) and Adinath Vaidya and Divya Srikanth (Tanpura).

The highlight of the second day of the SwaraZankar festival was the unique melodic program ‘’Melodic Rhythm with Selva Ganesh’ conceived by renowned Tabla player Padmashri Pt. Vijay Ghate. The audience experienced the juggling of percussion instruments, Kathak and Tabla. “Swar-raag based programs are performed in many festivals but artists like us do not get a separate opportunity to perform rhythm-based programs. That is why we are trying to come together and present our performance through this program,” Ghate said.

Percussionist, Selvaganesh, Pandit Vijay Ghate and Kathak exponent, Sheetal Kolwalkar mesmerised the audience with their magnetic performances. The performance started with the prayers for Durga, which was followed by a powerful performance of Ganesha Vandana, Krishna Vandana, Bhajans, Shlokas, Tabla Solos and Kathak dances.

They were accompanied by Abhishek Shinkar (Harmonium), Nagesh Adgaonkar (vocals), Sagar Patokar (Narrator) and Nilesh Yadav (Dhvani).

Renowned Vocalist, Vidhushi Ashwini Bhide Deshpande wooed the audience with her magnetic performance at the 14th SwarZankar festival organized by the Violin Academy today. She started with Raag Jhinjhoti followed by Khan Saheb Alladiya Khan’s Bandish ‘Aye ri Ari’ in Rupak Taal. She also performed ‘Akhiya Unaso Laagi’ in drut Teen Taal. She concluded her performance with Bhajan of Gurunanak. She was accompanied by Bharat Kamat (Tabla), Suyog Kundalkar (Harmonium) and Rutuja Lad and Shruti Abhyankar (Tanpura).
