Swift Action by Pune Police Helps Rescue Two Missing Minor Girls Within an Hour

Chandannagar, 18 March 2025: In a commendable display of swift action, the Pune Police successfully traced and rescued two missing minor girls within an hour of receiving the complaint. The prompt response was made possible through efficient teamwork and the assistance of local rickshaw drivers.

According to police officials, two women had dropped their 13-year-old daughters at school around 7:00 am tod. However, one of them later received a message through the school’s WhatsApp group that her daughter had not attended school. Distressed, she searched for both girls but was unable to locate them. She then approached the Chandannagar Police Station to file a missing persons complaint.

Upon receiving the complaint, multiple police teams were immediately formed to search for the missing girls. While filing the report, officials learned that one of the girls had a mobile phone. The police quickly tracked her location, which led them to Kasba Peth in Pune.

A team was immediately dispatched to the location, where, with the help of rickshaw drivers, both girls were safely taken into custody and reunited with their families. The rickshaw drivers, Santosh Laxman Lokhande and Krishna Nagpure, who played a crucial role in assisting the police, were felicitated by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Pranjali Sonawane and Senior Police Inspector Seema Dhakne of Chandannagar Police Station.

This successful operation was carried out under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone 4, Himmat Jadhav, ACP Pranjali Sonawane, and Senior Police Inspector Seema Dhakne. The team included Police Sub-Inspector Kiran More, along with police personnel Vijay Tikekar, Ramchandra Gurav, Vishwanath Gone, Nanasaheb Pature, Amol Kolekar, Bharat Ukirde, Shivaji Dhande, Manoj Bhandari, and Atul Adak.
