‘Taalchakra Yuva Festival’ set to enthrall music lovers on 4th & 5th January, 2025

Pune, December 27, 2024: The prestigious ‘Taalchakra Yuva Festival’, a celebration of music and percussion, will take place on 4th & 5th January 2025 in Pune. Renowned Tabla Maestro, Padmashree Pandit Vijay Ghate, announced the festival’s 12th edition, featuring a diverse lineup of young percussionists and vocalists.

The two-day festival will commence at Bhave School Auditorium in Sadashiv Peth on 4th January, followed by performances at Balgandharva Rangamandir on 5th January, starting at 5:00 pm on both days. The event is open to all on a first-come, first-served basis.

Padmashree Pandit Vijay Ghate while sharing the information about the festival said, “Our primary objective is to provide a platform for emerging talent in percussion and vocals. This year’s festival promises to be an unforgettable experience, with ‘Man Mahayo Savaro’ being a major highlight, featuring Haveli Sangeet.”

On Saturday, 4th January, first day of this festival will begin with the performance of Rajas Upadhye who disciple of Violin player, Atulkumar Upadhye. He will be accompanied by Amit Kavthekar (Tabla), Omkar Ingawale (Pakhwaj) and Aman Warkhedkar (keyboard). Second session of the first day will have a performance of Nagesh Adgaonkar who is a disciple of Ustad Rashid Khan is. He will be presenting some compositions of Pandita Shobha Gurtu. Nagesh Adgaonkar will be accompanied by Vinayak Kudalkar (Tabla), Apurva Pethkar (Harmonium) and Lalit Sidodiya (Sarangi). The first day will end with this performance.

Second day i.e. Sunday, 5th January, in the first session there will be solo tabla performance by Shiv Chordia. This will be followed by jugalbandi between S. Akash on (Flute) who is a disciple of Pandit Jaytirth Mevundi & Yashwant Vaishnav (Tabla) who is a disciple of Pandit Yogesh Samsi. This day’s last session will have one of its kind musical program – ‘Man Mahyo Sawaro’ featuring Haveli Sangeet. Artists like Vinay Ramdasan & Anuja Zokarkar (Vocals), Amit Padhye (Organ), Shubham Ugale (Pakhwaj), Umesh Varbhuvan (Percussion), Bhaskar Das (Flute), Makarand Sharma (Side Percussion), Aman Raithatha & Kedar Jog (Chorus) will be performing during this program.
