Tatjana to clash with Nigina in singles finals at 22nd edition of NECC Deccan ITF $40000 Women’s Tennis Tournament
Pune, January 27, 2023: Top seed and world No 71 Tatjana Maria of Germany will clash second seeded Nitin’s Abduraimova of Uzbekistan in the singles finals , while the Indian top seeded pair of Ankita Raina and Prarthana Thombare entered the doubles final at the 22nd edition of the NECC Deccan ITF $40000 Women’s Tennis Tournament India’s longest-running international tennis tournament organised under the auspices of the ITF, AITA and MSLTA by Deccan Gymkhana and sponsored by National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC) at the Deccan Gymkhana Tennis Courts.
In the singles semifinals topseeded Tatjana Maria who was a semifinalist at Wimbledon registered a 6-3,6-1 win over India No 1 Ankita Raina (IND) in 1 hr and 18mins , Tatjana will take on second seeded Nigina Abduraimova of Uzbekistan who struggled to get past a fighting seventh seed Valeria Savinykh of Russia 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 in 2 hrs and 35mins battle .
In the Doubles Semifinal Top seeded Indian pair of. Ankita Raina and Prarthana Thombare outplayed third seeded pair of Diana Marcinkevica of Latvia and Dutch player Rosalie Van Der Hoek 6-1, 6-2 to enter the finals. , the Indian pair will take on unseeded Kazakh pair of Gozal Ainitdinova and Zhibek Kulambayeva Who edged out second seeded Rutuja Bhosale and Ekaterina Yashina 6-4, 2-6, 10-5
