TCS says Employees under investigation in Nashik Case Suspended with Immediate Effect
Nashik, 13th April 2026: Shocking details have emerged from the Nashik office of a leading IT company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), even as the firm on Monday issued a statement confirming action against the employees involved and assured full cooperation with the ongoing investigation.
In its clarification, the TCS said it has a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and misconduct. “Employee safety and well-being remain our top priority. We adhere to the highest standards in this regard and do not tolerate any form of harassment,” the company said, adding that employees under investigation in the Nashik case have been suspended with immediate effect.
The company further stated that it has been extending full cooperation to the investigating agencies since the matter came to light.
The case involves allegations of molestation, sexual and mental harassment of women employees, hurting religious sentiments, and attempts at religious conversion by co-workers within the company. A detailed probe initiated after complaints of sexual exploitation brought several disturbing allegations to light, including inappropriate physical contact, sexually suggestive behaviour, intrusive remarks about victims’ personal and marital lives, coercion to consume non-vegetarian food, and obscene comments about their bodies.
There are also allegations of an attempt to coerce a male employee into religious conversion. So far, nine FIRs have been registered in connection with the case. The incident has sparked wider concerns over the safety of women employees in corporate workplaces. It has also come to light that several companies do not have Internal Complaints Committees (ICCs) in place to address harassment cases.
