Teachers’ Day celebration at SIU
Symbiosis International (Deemed University) (SIU) on Teachers’ Day organized the grand finale of the Intra-SIU competition for the faculty members of SIU.
The aim of the Intra-SIU competition competition was to give a platform to the faculty members of Symbiosis to showcase the utilization of innovative e-resources (open source and paid resources) which they use in their class when they teach. It was also a platform for all faculty members to collectively learn from each other’s experiences.
From the 100 + teams who submitted their proposals, 13 teams across Symbiosis institutions were shortlisted for presenting their interventions to the jury.
Each of the 13 teams (who were faculty members from institutions across symbiosis) presented their ‘course-specific’ interventions showcasing the e-resource utilization by them in their teaching, learning and evaluations. An internal jury along with an external expert – Dr. Sameer Sahasrabudhe from IIT Bombay judged the presentations.
Dr R Raman, Director SIBM – Pune emerged the winner for the e-intervention that he showcased, which is used for evaluation and Prof. Krishna Kanta Roy & Ms. Shilpi Singh, SSE, Pune emerged as runners up who showcased their e-intervention which is used in class room teaching.
The entire event was organized by Dr. Sophia Gaikwad – Head Symbiosis Teaching Learning Resource Centre, of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), and the prizes were given by Dr. Rajini Gupte – Vice Chancellor – SIU.
