Teen Tragedy Near Khadakwasla: Pune Rural Police Unravel Love Triangle Murder
Khadakwasla, 20th March 2024: An incident unfolded in Manerwadi, within the Ghera Sinhagad area near Khadakwasla, where a schoolboy lost his life to a Koyta stabbing incident involving a love affair. The Haveli Police have taken two schoolboys into custody, and initial investigations suggest the motive behind the crime was linked to a romantic relationship.
The victim, identified as Prakash Harisingh Rajput, aged 14 and a resident of Manerwadi, Haveli, was attacked by the two detained individuals. Prakash’s mother, Anita Harisingh Rajput, lodged a complaint with the Haveli Police Station. The Rajput family, originally from Jat taluka of Sangli district, currently resides at the Anandvan Society in Manerwadi, where Anita is employed. Prakash, a ninth-grade student at a school in Khanapur, used to return home after school and rest. However, on Monday evening he was assaulted in his sleep by two schoolmates wielding a Koyta weapon. Despite being rushed to the hospital by concerned neighbours, Prakash succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, Senior Police Inspector Sachin Wangde and his team from the Haveli Police Station swiftly responded. Investigations revealed that the assailants were fellow schoolmates of Prakash, residing in the vicinity. Initially uncooperative, the suspects eventually confessed to their involvement in Prakash’s death. A girl from Prakash’s school, residing nearby, had severed ties with the suspects due to Prakash’s advice against befriending them. Enraged by the breakup, the accused schoolboys conspired to eliminate Prakash. They executed their plan by fatally stabbing him with a Koyta while he slept.
The investigative efforts led by the Pune Rural Police, under the supervision of Superintendent Pankaj Deshmukh and Additional Superintendent Ramesh Chopde, along with the diligent work of the Haveli Police Station team, including Police Inspector Sachin Wangde and his colleagues, have resulted in uncovering the truth behind this heinous crime.
