Kamareddy, 21st February 2025: In a shocking incident, a 16-year-old Class 10 student, Nidhi, collapsed and died of a heart attack outside her school in Kamareddy district on Thursday morning.

A resident of Singarayapalli village in Ramareddy Mandal, Nidhi had been staying in Kamareddy to attend a private school. She reportedly experienced chest pain near the school premises and fainted. A teacher who witnessed the incident immediately rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she was given initial treatment, including CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation). However, when she did not respond, she was referred to another hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

The sudden demise of the young student left her teachers and classmates in deep shock. The school community expressed their grief and extended condolences to her family. Her body was later sent to her hometown for final rites.

This incident comes shortly after another case of a student suffering a fatal heart attack. Mohit Chaudhary, a 14-year-old Class 6 student from Sirauli village in Aligarh, collapsed while practicing for his school’s annual sports day and was later pronounced dead.

Medical experts have raised concerns over the rising cases of sudden cardiac arrests among young individuals. Professor M. Rabbani from Aligarh Muslim University highlighted the alarming trend. “If a healthy person dies within an hour of experiencing symptoms, it is considered sudden cardiac arrest. Cases have increased by 22% over the past two decades. If a child complains of shortness of breath or chest pain, they should be examined immediately,” he warned.
