Temperature Rise In Pune, IMD Predicts More Hot Days Ahead

Pune, 1st March 2021: Pune city is experiencing warm days due to a rise in maximum temperature. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted more hot days.

According to IMD data, the temperature rise is due to the decrease in moisture in the air, resulting in the dry air around the city. Moreover, a cyclonic low-pressure belt active in the Arabian Sea on the Maharashtra coastline has caused a rise in maximum temperature in Konkan and central Maharashtra region.

Currently, the winds flowing around the state are coming from Gujarat, Rajasthan, and not from the extreme northern states, and thus they are not cold. All these conditions are affecting the weather in Pune city, including a rise in maximum and minimum temperature.

On Sunday (28th February), IMD recorded 36.1 degree Celsius maximum temperature in the city, which is higher than 5 degree Celsius than the average temperature. It is predicted that the temperature will reach between 34-35 degrees Celsius during the coming two-three days, and citizens will experience more warm days ahead.
