Temperature To Continue Falling In Maharashtra, December To Be Coldest Month
Pune, 3rd December 2022: While the weather has fluctuated continuously in November, the Meteorological Department has predicted that the minimum temperature will be below average in Maharashtra in December. Therefore, there is a possibility of experiencing severe cold during Christmas and the end of the year.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) recently announced the long-term forecast for December. Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, some northern parts, the Himalayan region, and Maharashtra, along with some southern states, are likely to experience cooler temperatures.
In November, cold weather was felt in the state in the first phase and the few days after the fortnight. From November 20 to 22, there was a big drop in temperature in all parts of the state. In most places, the temperature dropped below 10 degrees and the cold was felt. Except for this period, constant changes in temperature were observed at other times. Currently, it is the period of North East Monsoon rains. This rain, which is active in the south, has affected Maharashtra from time to time.
Most of the time low pressure areas are formed in the Bay of Bengal and sometimes in the Arabian Sea. Due to this, there was rain in the southern parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and other southern states. As a result, partly cloudy weather formed in Maharashtra, the temperature increased, and the cold disappeared.
The temperature will see a massive dip in December compared to November. During this month, the minimum night temperature is likely to remain below average on most days in all areas from Konkan to Vidarbha. The drop in temperature is likely to last longer in some parts of Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha. Central India, north-western parts of the country are likely to see a major drop in temperature in December. However, temperatures will be slightly above average in the northeast.
At present, the minimum temperature in Vidarbha, Marathwada, Konkan and some places in Madhya Maharashtra is one to three degrees below the average.
Aurangabad recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 10.8 degrees Celsius on Friday. The minimum temperature remained close to average in all Konkan regions, including Mumbai.
In Vidarbha, the temperature has dropped by one to two degrees compared to the average. In western Maharashtra, except for Pune and Jalgaon, the temperature is above average.
