The culprit behind Sarabjit Singh’s murder has been killed, was shot by unknown gunmen.

Lahore, 14th April 2024: In Pakistan, Amir Sarfraz, who was serving a death sentence for the murder of Indian citizen Sarabjit Singh, was killed by unknown gunmen. Amir Sarfraz was considered close to Hafiz Saeed, the founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). In the Islampura area of Lahore, motorcyclists attacked him, resulting in serious injuries. Sarfraz was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries.

Amir Sarfraz was imprisoned in Kot Lakhpat Jail in Pakistan. On April 26, 2013, he attacked Sarabjit Singh and on May 2, Sarabjit was declared dead. Later, Sarabjit Singh was declared a martyr by the Punjab government. Tarn Taran, Bhikhiwind resident Sarabjit Singh had crossed the India-Pakistan border on the evening of August 30, 1990 and had accidently reached Pakistan. Later, he was arrested by the Pakistani Police in connection with bomb blasts in Islamabad. The Pakistan Police claimed that Tarn Taran’s village Bhikhiwind resident Sarabjit Singh was a spy for Indian agencies.
