The Largest Gathering of Senior Citizens on International Yoga Day
Pune, Thursday, June 21, 2018: On International Yoga Day, the largest congregation of senior citizens from Pune came together to commemorate the spirit of the age-old practice of Yoga. This assembly of senior citizens, aptly termed ‘Rejuvenate By Seniority’ witnessed more than 300 senior citizens and was the largest gathering, that also attempted to create a record in the Limca Book of Records. The grand event was organized at the Jogger’s Park, Kalyani Nagar, Pune from 7:00 am to 9:00 am and was graced by the presence of Shri JagdishTukaramMulik, MLA, Vadgaonsheri, Pune Assembly and Shri Mohan Joshi, renowned Indian film, television and theater actor and recipient of the 47th national film award.
Seniority, an RPG company that is India’s largest shopping destination for senior citizens products, organized this event to inculcate the habit of healthy living amongst the senior members of the society. Seniority has over 1 lakh customers and is looking to ramp up its community engagement activities across India.
Speaking at the momentous occasion, Shri JagdishTukaramMulik, MLA, Pune Assembly said, “It gives me great pleasure to be a part of such an event that has taken the onus of remembering and caring for the senior members of our society. Senior citizens are our guardians and mentors and their health should be a concern of every progressive society. With so much focus on the ‘Fit India’ campaign, such events that promote healthy living though yoga for our elders is a stupendous gesture.
Shri Mohan Joshi, eminent film actor said, “This initiative marks a special day as it reiterates the importance of Yoga, as a discipline that is best suited for senior members of the society. Being a senior citizen myself, I can vouch for the benefits that emanate for the practitioner in giving a healthy mind, body, and soul. Rejuvenate by Seniority is a great initiative and should be replicated in other parts of the country bringing more senior citizens under its ambit and propagating the message of health & wellness.”
