The Orbis School’s English Lab Is Helping Students Develop Real-World Communication Skills
Mundhwa, 5th September 2026: At The Orbis School, learning English goes beyond textbooks, grammar, and written examinations. The school’s English Lab provides students with a practical, technology-enabled environment where they can develop communication skills through regular listening, speaking, pronunciation, and conversation activities.
The English Lab has already become an engaging part of students’ learning experience, giving them opportunities to listen to different accents, improve pronunciation, build vocabulary, and practise spoken English through audio-visual resources and interactive activities.
One key area the English Lab addresses is students’ hesitation to speak English confidently. Through role plays, dialogues, presentations, conversations, and interactive speaking tasks, students are encouraged to express their thoughts freely and communicate without hesitation. Regular practice helps them become more comfortable using English in everyday situations.
The programme also supports written communication through vocabulary-building exercises, creative writing, grammar activities and structured sentence formation. These activities help students organise their thoughts, improve language accuracy and communicate their ideas more effectively.
A student of The Orbis School said, “Earlier, I would sometimes hesitate before speaking in English because I was worried about making mistakes. The activities in the English Lab have helped me speak more confidently and express my ideas better.”
Teachers have also observed a positive change in students’ participation and confidence.
“The English Lab gives students a safe and interactive space to practise English without the fear of making mistakes. We have seen students become more willing to participate, speak up and communicate their ideas”, explained the English Teacher.
By combining technology with hands-on language practice, the English Lab is helping students strengthen not just their English proficiency, but also confidence, critical thinking, collaboration and effective communication—skills that extend well beyond the classroom and prepare them for real-world situations.
