Pune, February 2, 20!!19: Harshal Kokate of Indapur defeated Tanaji Jhunjurke of Mulshi and won the open category title at the Haveli Ajinkya District Wrestling 2019 tournament. This tournament was organised by Haveli Taluka Arts, Sports and Social Organisation at Nanded City,Sinhgad road.

The award included a silver mace and a reward of Rs.51,000 as prize money. This tournament has been organised from last seven years. The tournament was inaugurated by Dr.Parag Sancheti, Chairman and Managing Director, Sancheti Hospital.

Wrestlers Bharat Chaudhari, Bhimrao Wanjale, Sandeep Wanjale, Baburao Thopte, Nikhil Dhavde, Sachin Choudhari, Yuvraj Wanjale, Maauli Kalekar, Yogesh Chavhan, Tanmay Dhavde, Mangesh Dhavde, Nitin Dhojge and Ambadas Chaudhari helped in organising this event.

The silver mace was sponsored by the Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Trust, while the cash award was given by Corporator Rajabhau Laygude.

In junior 35-kg category Omkar Jagtap of Velha won the first place. Om Daswadkar of Velha and Vedant Pawar of Haveli won the second and third positions respectively. In the 38-kg class, Sangram Daswadkar of Velha, and Suresh Javalkar of Haveli in the 41-kg group finished first.

Akshay Bhosale of Velha won the 45-kg title in under -17 age group, while Harshal Gogavale of Haveli won the 49-kg title.
In seniors Kiran Shinde of Baramati lifted the 57-kg title. The other winners in the senior category were Daund’s Nikhil Kadam (61-kg), Haveli’s Tukaram Shitole (65-kg), Khed’s Sagar Lokhande (70-kg).
