Pune, September 6, 2019 : Reputed Potters and Ceramic Artists from all over the country have gathered together to create awareness about their art which is distinguished and totally exclusive in nature. Beautiful and colorful clay pots, ceramics, fridge magnets, clay cufflinks, jewellery and even the clay ornaments for garden are attracting viewers attention in the ongoing ‘Pune Potters’ Market 2019’.

The unique studio pottery exhibition organized by IGA Galleria kicked off today at Phoenix Market City on Nagar Road and will go on till Sunday, September 8, in between 11am to 9pm daily. The entry to the exhibition is free and open for all.

The first Indian lady Potter Nirmala Patwardhan was from Pune, informed Indranil Garai, Principal Associate, IGA. However, now a days, more awareness is needed about this kind of art. ‘‘When studio pottery gets more appreciated then only it can become sustainable for the practicing artists.’’, He said.

Sixteen very reputed Potters and Ceramic Artists from all over India including Ahmedabad, Kanpur, Agra, Vijaywada, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune have participated in this exhibition.

‘‘We get to see the pottery items like cups, mugs and clay utensils sold by different production pottery units. Studio Pottery is way different than that. The art created by studio Potters is as exclusive as the work of some celebrated Painter. These articles are not mass produced and so their designer exclusivity is maintained. We need to reach out to the art lovers, design students and people at large to spread awareness about this beautiful art.’’, Said Indranil.

After the exhibition at Phoenix Market City, the second phase of the ‘Pune Potters’ Market will take place at The Pavilion on Senapati Bapat Road, from September 13 to September 15. In this event carefully curated by IGA Galleria, a different set of 16 Potters from different places in the country will present their creation.
