The Yellow Ribbon Fair by Ishanya Foundation successfully steps into the next decade
Pune, October 06th, 2018: ISHANYA Foundation proudly inaugurates the 11th edition of The Yellow Ribbon NGO Fair (YRNF) at the hands of a distinguished figure Mrs. Tina Ambani and Mrs. Parul Mehta, Founder Trustee, ISHANYA Foundation, today.
The four-day fair (5th Oct -8th Oct) commences with a theme of ‘Back to Basics’ symbolizing use of environment friendly products and indigenous produce for a sustainable way of living and preserving ethnic communities. To support the cause, the foundation has connected with small scale farmers and tribal farming communities and is exhibiting organic and exotic indigenous variety of fruits, vegetables and grains which are otherwise not available in the local or retail market. The fair will showcase handpicked portfolio of eco-friendly products and festive gift collections from over 100 NGOs and artisans from across the country.
This year artists from different parts of India are exhibiting warli art, pattachitra art and terracotta paintings in different kinds of products made of copper, wood, eco-friendly fibres, etc. Artisans are exhibiting products with exquisite designs & hand woven traditional weaves in batik art, kantha stitch, bandhani, shibori, block printing to name a few. Handmade jewellery items with dokra, antiques and crystal glass will also be displayed.

Award winning Bandhani artists are exhibiting bandhani sarees, dress materials, duppattas, pocket squares, etc at the fair. Famous weavers are displaying authentic weaves from Banaras while internationally recognized artist are showcasing different kinds of bells from the Lohar community.
On embarking on the 11th year of Yellow Ribbon NGO Fair, Mrs. Parul Mehta, Founder and Trustee of Ishanya Foundation, highlighted, “We are extremely proud to take Yellow Ribbon NGO Fair to the next decade. Driven by the phenomenal response, the fair has 25% repeat participants from the previous years while 75% of the exhibitors are new entrants basis the theme of products and an ardent need of promoting age-old art forms. In the interest of survival and safeguarding the rich and diverse culture and art heritage of India, we should all come forward to support artisans and craftsmenship and take an onus to revive and survive our cultural heritage, contribute to sustainability, drive social impact is in our hands and we should do what it takes to ensure that this heritage does not fade out or become extinct.”
A varied and unique portfolio of products will also be available to the patrons of YRNF which are not only environment friendly but also artistic. From eco-friendly offerings like mud & cow dung flower pots, recycled jean bags, plates and cases and trays made of bamboo & betel leaves, personal use items to festive gifting items like decorative diya’s, torans, cloth envelopes, etc will be all available under one roof by diverse communities. For those who are health conscious and are in love with organic harvest can look for purple yam, black rice, diabetic honey, moringa powder, turmeric latte, fresh mulberries, cold pressed oils, etc, to name a few.
