Three Accidents in Pimpri Chinchwad Result in One Death and Multiple Injuries

Pimpri Chinchwad, 18th November 2024: Three recent accidents in Pimpri Chinchwad have resulted in one death and multiple injuries, along with damage to a police vehicle. These incidents took place under the jurisdiction of the Nigdi, Dapodi, and Bhosari Police Stations, all within the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC). A case has been registered against three individuals, including a minor, in connection with all three incidents. Two of the accidents were attributed to drunk driving.
The first incident took place in Nigdi yesterday involving an auto-rickshaw driver, Mahadev Bali Waghmare (25, a resident of Nigdi), who was under the influence of alcohol. While Police Constable Adinath Bhagwat from the Motor Transport Unit of PCPC was stationed by the road to inspect vehicles in preparation for the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections, Waghmare collided with a government vehicle, causing damage and minor injuries to himself. A case has been registered against Waghmare, and Assistant Police Inspector Kadam from the Nigdi Police Station is investigating the matter further.
In the second incident, which occurred in the Indrayani Nagar area of Bhosari on Saturday, a minor driver, while driving a Scorpio car under the influence, collided with a rickshaw and two two-wheelers on the Pune-Nashik Highway. The rickshaw driver lost his life in the incident, while the other two individuals sustained serious injuries. All vehicles involved suffered heavy damage. A case has been registered, and the minor accused has been detained. Police Sub-Inspector Mahajan from the Dapodi Police Station is investigating the matter further.
The third incident occurred on Alandi Road in Bhosari on 13th November when the complainant, Sanjay Khandare, was en route to his office and was hit from behind by a motorcycle. Khandare sustained severe injuries all over his body. A case has been filed against the unidentified motorcycle driver, who fled the scene following the incident. Police Constable Bhojane from the Bhosari Police Station is investigating the matter further.
