Hadapsar, 18th November 2024: With the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections set to take place the day after tomorrow, the campaign has been in full swing over the past few days. Following the split within the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) last year, this marks the first Maharashtra Assembly Election in which both Ajit Pawar and Sharad Pawar are competing against each other, exchanging barbs at every meeting and campaign rally.

In Hadapsar, there is an NCP vs NCP battle, with Ajit Pawar’s supporter, Chetan Tupe, contesting against Prashant Jagtap from the Sharad Pawar-led NCP. Veteran leader Sharad Pawar took to X (formerly Twitter) to target the sitting MLA of Hadapsar, Chetan Tupe, accusing him of disloyalty and urging him to learn about loyalty from Tupe’s father, Vitthal.

Sharad Pawar wrote, “Prashant Jagtap did not give up his party loyalty in times of trouble. Chetan Tupe, however, supported the separatists. He should have learned ‘what is loyalty?’ from his father, Vitthal Tupe.”

Both Ajit Pawar and Sharad Pawar visited Hadapsar for the election campaign, delivering impassioned speeches. On the final day of campaigning, Sharad Pawar took to X once again to criticize MLA Chetan Tupe, who has not yet responded to the tweet.
