New Delhi, 9th June 2025: India’s rich and diverse culinary heritage has once again received international recognition, with three beloved Indian breakfast dishes making it to the list of the “50 Best Breakfasts in the World,” as compiled by global food and travel guide Taste Atlas. The rankings, released in June 2025, highlight the deep cultural significance and widespread popularity of traditional Indian morning meals.

Leading the Indian entries is Maharashtra’s iconic Misal Pav, which secured the 18th position on the global list. A quintessential part of Maharashtrian cuisine, Misal Pav is celebrated for its bold flavors, fiery spice, and vibrant presentation. Taste Atlas describes it as a dish that must be spicy, with a crunchy base, and visually striking with its mix of reds, browns, oranges, and greens—making it not just a treat for the palate but also for the eyes.

Also featured is the Paratha, ranked 23rd, which represents a broad category of stuffed or plain flatbreads traditionally served with butter, pickles, curd, or vegetables. While rooted in North Indian kitchens, parathas have become a staple across the country, often customized to suit regional tastes with a variety of fillings and accompaniments.

Chole Bhature, a beloved dish synonymous with Delhi’s vibrant street food culture, claimed the 32nd spot. This hearty combination of spicy chickpeas and deep-fried bread is considered one of the most indulgent and satisfying breakfast options in North India and has become popular nationwide.

Taste Atlas revealed the top 50 list through its official Instagram page, while the full list, including rankings from 51 to 100, is available on its website. The recognition serves as a reminder of India’s vast and flavorful culinary landscape, where breakfast is not just a meal, but a celebration of tradition and taste.
