Three Policemen of Pune Police City Police Found Coronavirus Positive

Pune, April 21, 2020: Two more policemen of a police station under Pune City police have tested Coronavirus positive, taking the tally to three now. Earlier a constable of the same police station and his wife were tested positive. The couple is admitted in YCM hospital in Pimpri.

After samples were tested of other police personnel and reports of two of them have come positive. Senior police officials said that they are providing safety gears like masks, face shields, hand gloves, sanitizers to police personnel. Also, samples of other police personnel are being tested.

In Pune district, the number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 756 including 666 from Pune city where 49 patients have died and 68 have been cured till now. There are 10 patients in Pune cantonment and 8 in Khadki Cantonment areas, while 31 patients are from Pune rural areas.

As the cases of Coronavirus are increasing every day, all areas under PMC and PCMC have been sealed and a strict curfew is being implemented by the police. Nobody is allowed to move out of their area. And no person is being given entry. Essential commodities shops are allowed to open for only a few hours. The strict curfew will be implemented until April 27.

The number of Coronavirus Positive patients in PCMC areas has reached 62 out of which two have died, while 18 others have been cured and discharged from various hospitals. On April 9, a 42-year-old man had died becoming the first casualty of Coronavirus in PCMC.

According to Maharashtra Police, a total of 11 police officers and 38 policemen have tested positive for #COVID19, since 22nd March till 4 am today, across the state.

The state health department officials said that there were 472 new COVID19 cases reported in Maharashtra till 10 am today, taking total positive cases in the state to 4676. Nine more deaths have been reported, taking the total death toll in the state to 232.
