Three Wrestlers From Pune Killed In Accident Near Karad

Pune/Satara, January 31, 2021: Three persons were killed and seven others were seriously injured in a head-on collision between two vehicles, Innova and Swift, near Karad in Satara district on the Pune-Bangalore highway.

The deceased include three wrestlers Rahul Prahlad Dorge (28), Ravi Salunke and Swapnil Chandrakant Shinde (21), all residents of Katraj, Pune.

According to police, the accident took place near Narayanwadi village around 7 pm on the highway. Both vehicles were heading towards Pune when one of them hit from behind. The vehicles overturned and fell on trees on the roadside. The injured have been admitted to Krishna Hospital, Karad.

Highway police and Karad police are investigating the case. Police officials suspect that the accident took place while overtaking on the highway.
