Pune, 23rd October 2022: Currently, to control the crowd at Pune Railway Station, the platform ticket from 24th to 31st October 2022 will be increased by Rs 10 to Rs 30. People are requested not to crowd the station unnecessarily

A passenger was killed in a stampede on the train from Pune to Danapur (Bihar). This incident occurred around 9 pm on platform one. Due to the lack of additional special trains for Uttar Pradesh and Bihar on Diwali, the trains leaving Pune are becoming overcrowded. There was a large crowd of passengers when the Pune-Danapur Express arrived at the platform. One person fell while boarding the coach, and the crowd trampled him. He was declared dead when he arrived at the hospital. Sajan Baldewan Yadav (30), a Bihar resident, has been identified as the deceased.

It may be noted that the Railway Administration is alert about the rush of passengers at the station for the past several days and as a result additional teams of officers and staff have been deployed to control the situation throughout the day including adequate arrangement of RPF.

Apart from regular trains, Central Railway has so far planned *242 festival special trains, highest ever run in any year for Dipawali and Chhath Puja.* Out of these 242 special trains 54 trains have already served the passengers in various directions and remaining 188 will serve the need of passengers. Apart from these 242 special trains 4 additional special trains (2 each way) from Pune to Bihar have been planned.

Central Railway appeals to the rail users not to crowd railway station unnecessarily and request the passengers to come to the station well in time so that boarding of trains becomes easier for them.
