Today 8 More Omicron COVID Cases Reported In Maharashtra

Pune, 14th December 2021: As per the report given by the National Institute of Virology (NIV) Pune, eight more patients were found to be infected with Omicron in the state. Out of these 7 patients are from Mumbai and 1 patient is from Vasai Virar.

Till date, a total of 28 patients infected with Omicron virus have been reported in the Maharashtra state (Mumbai-12, Pimpri Chinchwad-10, Pune Municipal Corporation-2, Kalyan Dombivali-1, Nagpur-1, Latur-1 and Vasai Virar-1). 

Out of these, 9 cases have been discharged after negative RT PCR test.

Information of 8 patients diagnosed with Omicron today:

  • All these laboratory samples were taken in the first week of December. 
  • Out of these 8 patients, 3 are women and 5 are men 
  • Age group – 24 years to 41 years
  • Symptoms – 3 patients asymptomatic, 5 mild. 
  • According to preliminary information, none of them has a history of international travel. 
  • One of them has travelled to Bangalore and the other to Delhi. One person from Mumbai is from Rajasthan. 
  • Out of these 8 patients, 2 are in hospital and 6 are at home isolation. 
  • The close contacts of these patients are being tracked. 
  • Out of these, 7 patients have been vaccinated and one has not been vaccinated.
