Tourist From Pune Dies During Trip To Dapoli, Had Gone There With 16 Friends
Pune, 5th December 2022: Mayur Chikhalkar (27) from Pune, died at Ladghar beach in Dapoli taluka when he, with 16 other friends, went to Ladghar for tourism at 8 am on Sunday.
They went for a swim in the sea around 9 am. At 10 am they came out of the water and had breakfast. Chikhalkar went alone to the seawater to wash his clothes due to sand getting in his clothes around 3:30 pm.
As Chikhalkar did not return for a long time, Rupesh Gade went to the shore to look for him. He saw Chikhalkar lying on the sand. He was breathing. Rupesh called all his friends there immediately. The friends tried to squeeze Chikhalkar’s stomach to expel the water.
These friends asked the villagers where the nearest hospital was. When they got information about the Sub-District Hospital in Dapoli, they brought Chikhalkar there in a car. The medical officer present there, Dr Geetam Raut, declared Chikhalkar dead after an examination.
Meanwhile, the exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained. Head Constable Ajit Gujar is investigating the incident further.
