Toyota Urban Cruiser Company Rescinded More Than 9 Thousand Units

New Delhi, March 18, 2021: Toyota Kirloskar Motor launched the Urban Cruiser last year by entering the range of sub-compact SUVs in India. The company has rescinded more than 9 thousand units. According to the information received, a total of 9,498 units of the model made between 28 July 2020 and 11 February 2021 has been rescinded. The reason behind this is the driver-side airbag. For the information related to the same, the official Toyota dealers of the company will contact the owners of the affected vehicles.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser was launched by the company in three trims (Mid, High, and Premium). Powering this compact SUV is a 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 105bhp of power and 138Nm of torque. With this, the company offers a choice of a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Although mild hybrid technology is available exclusively on AMT variants.

The price of this sub-4 meter SUV has been fixed between Rs 8.40 lakh to Rs 11.30 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Which is available in six variants Mid, Mid AT, High, High AT, Premium, and Premium AT. The manual version of this SUV gives a mileage of 17.03kmpl, while its automatic model (with mild hybrid system) gives a mileage of 18.76kmpl. The Toyota Urban Cruiser is one of the top-selling vehicles of the Japanese carmaker in India.

Toyota is planning to launch the RAV4 and C-HR SUV in India. Both these models will be sold in India via the CBU route. According to reports, the Toyota RAV4 2021 with a hybrid powertrain can enter the Indian market before Diwali. However, the company has not confirmed it yet.
