Pune, 6th October 2023: The road leading to the Commissioner of Police (CP) Office in Pune is currently plagued by severe traffic congestion. The primary cause is the indiscriminate two-wheeler parking on both sides of the road, which has significantly disrupted the daily commute for various vehicles, including those of journalists, police, complainants, and essential services.

Located in the heart of Pune, the CP Office is instrumental in maintaining the city’s law and order. Consequently, it sees a high volume of visitors throughout the day, including officers, complainants, reporters, and the general public. The congestion problem has worsened recently due to a ban on two-wheeler parking within the CP Office premises, leading to an overflow of parked vehicles on the adjacent roads.

Journalists covering events at the CP Office have expressed concerns, as the congestion is increasingly affecting timely reporting.

The situation has reached a critical point, with haphazardly parked two-wheelers on both sides of the road severely restricting the passage for other vehicles. Commuters, particularly those in four-wheelers, have reported significant delays and increased travel times on this crucial route.

When Punekar News contacted the Pune Traffic Police, Vijay Magar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), assured that the issue would be addressed.

The CP Office is not just a hub for policing activities but also a symbol of governance and justice. Immediate and effective measures are needed to resolve the traffic congestion and ensure smooth access to the CP Office and its surrounding areas.
