Undri, 6th October 2023: The Bishop’s Co-Ed School in Undri, Pune, has reinforced its stance on ensuring the safety and security of students and parents by implementing a strict helmet-wearing policy for those riding two-wheelers on school premises.

In a notice dated 6th October 2023, the school Principal Julian Luke expressed concerns regarding the lack of compliance with this vital safety measure, despite previous reminders. Parents who drop off or pick up their children on two-wheelers are urged to prioritize safety by wearing helmets otherwise it may result in being denied entry to the school campus.

The notice also emphasized that parents play a crucial role as role models for their children, highlighting the importance of practicing safe riding habits starting from home.

Complaints from local shopkeepers situated near the school’s main gate have also prompted the school’s management to address parking issues. Some parents have been parking their vehicles in front of shops, inconveniencing local businesses, while others who use the back gate and are not wearing helmets, have been obstructing access to nearby residential areas.

To mitigate these issues, the school has requested parents to refrain from such parking practices, ensuring smooth traffic flow and convenience for local establishments and residents.

Additionally, concerns have arisen regarding congestion near the school’s entry and exit points, primarily stemming from parents parking outside the gates and accompanying their children to the school buildings. This congestion compromises the safety and security of students and hinders the security staff’s ability to monitor the entry and exit of children through the rear gate.

To address this, the school administration has appealed to parents to wear helmets and utilize the designated school parking facilities, allowing for more effective monitoring of entry and exit points.

The school administration expressed gratitude for the ongoing support and cooperation of parents in upholding safety standards within the school community.
