Traffic Diversions In Central Pune Today For Akshaya Tritiya Near Dagdusheth Temple; Check Alternative Routes Below!
Pune, 30th April 2025: In light of the anticipated heavy crowd at the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, the Pune Traffic Police have announced traffic diversions on Wednesday (30th April). The changes are particularly applicable in the areas surrounding Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Road, Ganesh Road, and Laxmi Road. Public transport services operated by Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) will also be rerouted through alternate routes.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zhende informed that the traffic restrictions will be in effect from 7:00 am to 12:00 am. Vehicles traveling from SG Barve Chowk (near Modern Café) towards Swargate are advised to take the route via Jangali Maharaj Road, Deccan Gymkhana, Khandojibaba Chowk, and Tilak Chowk. Those heading towards the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) office from SG Barve Chowk should use Jangali Maharaj Road via Jhansi Rani Laxmibai Chowk and Congress Bhavan.
Additionally, PMPML buses traveling from Daruwala Bridge to Phadke Haud will be rerouted. In case of excessive crowding between Appa Balwant Chowk and Hutatma Chowk (Budhwar Chowk), vehicular traffic in the area will be temporarily closed and redirected via Bajirao Road and Shaniwarwada route.
Zhende has urged all motorists and commuters to follow police instructions and cooperate to ensure smooth traffic movement during the festivities.
