Traffic Jam on Old Pune-Mumbai Highway After Accident, Electric Pole Collapse

Dehu Road, 20th April 2025: Vehicular movement on the old Pune-Mumbai highway came to a standstill on Saturday afternoon after an accident near Shelarwadi led to the collapse of an electric pole, causing a major traffic jam in the area.

According to preliminary reports, the accident resulted in the pole falling directly onto the roadway, obstructing traffic and creating a heavy backlog of vehicles stretching from Shelarwadi to Somatane Phata.

Commuters were left stranded for an extended period, leading to significant inconvenience for both daily travelers and long-distance passengers.

Traffic police personnel rushed to the scene immediately upon receiving information about the incident. Efforts were swiftly undertaken to clear the obstruction and restore the flow of vehicles.

Authorities have confirmed that traffic movement on the route has now resumed and is operating smoothly.
