Reported By Akshata Pawar
Sikkim, 16 September 2025: Troops of the Indian Army’s Trishakti Corps have successfully completed a high-altitude route march across the challenging terrain of Sikkim, reaffirming their operational readiness and resilience in extreme conditions.
Conducted from 9 to 15 September 2025, the six-day march saw soldiers traverse steep gradients, freezing winds, and rugged mountain tracks, all at altitudes reaching up to 17,000 feet. Each soldier carried a full operational battle load, including weapons, equipment, and survival gear, simulating real-world combat conditions in high-altitude environments.
This physically demanding exercise tested the troops’ endurance, mental fortitude, and unit cohesion, reinforcing the importance of preparedness in terrain where technology may be limited or disrupted.
While the Indian Army continues to modernize with the integration of drones, smart logistics, and advanced communications, such field exercises remain critical. They ensure that soldiers are capable of sustained operations even under the harshest and most austere conditions.
Speaking on the occasion, Lieutenant General Zubin A Minwalla, General Officer Commanding, Trishakti Corps, emphasized, “Technology enhances our capabilities, but it is the soldier’s grit and teamwork that ultimately wins battles. This march reinforces confidence in our ability to fight and prevail in the harshest conditions.”
The Trishakti Warriors’ successful completion of the march stands as a testament to their unwavering commitment to operational excellence and their role in guarding India’s eastern Himalayan frontiers.
