Two Dead and Four Injured in Major Accident On Pune-Mumbai Expressway
Pune 21st August 2023: In yet another accident reported on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway, two people have lost their lives while four others were injures. The accident was reported at around 9 am near Km 35 on the expressway in the Raigad district, said police.
According to the officials, a container going towards Mumbai from Pune came on the Mumbai lane and overturned after the container driver lost control on the vehicle. A total of five cars were damaged in the accident while a woman and a man travelling in a car died on the spot in the accident.
Two more women travelling in the same car have sustained injuries in the accident and they have been rushes to MGM Hospital in Navi Mumbai for the treatment. Besides, two more women travelling in another car have also sustained injuries in the incident and they have been also rushed to the hospital for the treatment.
This resulted in a heavy traffic traffic jam on the expressway towards Pune. “The traffic movement was halted for some time as they rescue agencies were removing the vehicles involved in the accident from the road. However, the the road is now open for the traffic movement and the vehicles are slowly moving towards Pune” said police.
