Two Dead, Four Injured in Major Accident on Mumbai–Pune Expressway
Lonavala, 24th November 2025: Two people died and four others sustained serious injuries in a major accident on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway early Sunday morning. The crash occurred around 3:45 am near the Taje Petrol Pump when a speeding container travelling from Pune to Mumbai lost control, crossed the divider, and rammed into an oncoming car.
Police said the impact was severe, leaving the container driver, Anurag Jagdish Gadwa, a resident of Chakkar Ghatta in Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh, and a car passenger, Vivek Surendra Pratapsingh, 30, from Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, dead on the spot.
Four others suffered serious injuries. They have been identified as Shubham Shukla, 32, of Kharghar, Navi Mumbai; Rituraj Paramhans Jaiswal, 32, of Turbhe, Mumbai; and Awadhesh Yadav, 33, who were travelling in the car, along with Rahul Rajendra Yadav, 21, from Varanasi, who was in the container.
All injured persons were rushed to a private hospital in Somatane Phata for emergency treatment. The bodies of the deceased were shifted to the government hospital in Talegaon Dabhade for post-mortem.
