Uddhav Thackeray will take oath as Maharashtra Chief Minister on November 28

Mumbai, November 26, 2019: On Tuesday evening, Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress leader met Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Governor of Maharashtra and submitted a claim for forming a government. Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan said that under the leadership of Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray there would be a government in the state. NCP leader Nawab Malik said that Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP alliance have elected Uddhav Thackeray as its leader.

After meeting the Governor, Congress leader Bala Saheb Thorat and NCP leader Jayant Patil said that Uddhav Thackeray will take oath of office as Chief Minister at 5:30 pm on November 28. There will be an oath-taking ceremony at Shivaji Park. There is no discussion about the ministers and their departments. Later timing of oath taking was changed to 6.40 pm.

After attending the party meeting in Mumbai, BJP leader Ashish Shelar said that in the coming days they will serve the people and will sit in opposition. “We have received information that Uddhav Thackeray is claiming ‘Maha Vikas Agadi’ for forming government as CM, we congratulate him”, he said.

After being elected as CM candidate of Maha Vikas Aghadi (NCP-Congress-Shiv Sena Alliance), Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray paid tribute to his father and Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray late Tuesday night at Matoshree, the residence of Thackerays in Mumbai.
