New Delhi, 29th October 2025: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the government agency responsible for issuing Aadhaar numbers, is set to launch a new AI-powered “e-Aadhaar” mobile app that will allow users to update their Aadhaar details online without visiting any Aadhaar Seva Kendra or enrollment centre.

According to reports, the all-in-one e-Aadhaar app—currently in its development stage—is expected to be launched by the end of 2025 for both Android and iOS platforms. The app will enable users to update key Aadhaar details, including their date of birth, mobile number, address, and other personal information, directly through their smartphones.

Unlike the existing mAadhaar app, which primarily allows users to store and access Aadhaar information, the new e-Aadhaar app will focus on self-service updates powered by artificial intelligence and facial recognition technology. This AI-based system aims to simplify the process, reducing the need for manual verification and long queues at Aadhaar centres.

Sources indicate that the app will also be able to automatically verify and fetch date of birth details from official documents such as PAN cards, passports, driving licenses, and ration cards, making the update process faster and more reliable.
