The final match was an intense showdown that saw Sunil Chhetri and his team remain composed during the crucial penalty kicks, ultimately prevailing over Kuwait with a score of 5-4. A standout moment came when goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu made a remarkable save on Kuwait’s sixth attempt, leading India to lift the trophy at Bengaluru’s Sree Kanteerava Stadium.
The match began with India taking an early advantage as Sunil Chhetri successfully converted their first penalty, finding the back of the net. However, a miss from Udanta Singh Kumam during the fourth shot added pressure on India during the final minutes of the gripping finale.
After 120 minutes of enthralling football, both teams displayed their skills, resulting in a 1-1 draw at the end of extra time. This parity mirrored their previous encounter in the group stage.
