UPSC Mains 2020: Main exam to be held from 8 January, schedule of Civil Services Principal Examination released by Union Public Service Commission

Pune, November 7, 2020: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the Civil Services (Principal) Examination 2020 schedule. According to the UPSC Mains 2020 schedule released by the Commission today, 6 November 2020, the main examinations will be conducted from 8 January 2021.

According to the UPSC Civil Services Main Exam 2020 time table, the examinations will run till 17 January 2021. Candidates declared successful in the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2020, who have filled the detailed application form (DAF), can visit the UPSC Mains Schedule 2020 Commission official website, ‘upsc.gov.in’ or download it from the direct link given below.

Civil Services (Principal) Examination 2020 Time Table

  • January 8 – Paper 1 essay from 9 am to 12 noon
  • January 9 – Paper 2 General Studies-1 (9 am to 12 noon) and Paper 3 General Studies-2 (2 pm to 5 pm)
  • January 10 – Paper 4 General Studies-3 (9 am to 12 noon) and Paper 5 General Studies -4 (2 pm to 5 pm)
  • January 16 – Indian language (9 am to 12 noon) and English (2 pm to 5 pm)
  • January 17 – Paper 6 optional subject Paper-1 (9 am to 12 noon) and Paper 7 optional subject Paper-2 (2 pm to 5 pm)

The notification of Civil Services Examination 2020 was released by the Union Public Service Commission in February. The preliminary examination was scheduled to be held on May 31, but due to the lock-down imposed due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the exam date was extended. The preliminary examination was held on 4 October. DAF forms are being filled by the candidates declared successful in the preliminary examination from October 28 for the main examination, the last date of which is 11 November 2020.
