Uttarakhand Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) Delivers Talk On National Security Aspects At MILIT Pune

Pune, 30th June 2022: Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt Gen Gurmit Singh, PVSM, AVSM, UYSM, VSM (Retd) delivered a talk on ‘National Security Aspects’ at the prestigious Military Institute of Technology, Pune on 29 June 2022 to the 186 Staff and Student Officers of DSTSC & NTSC Courses.

Governor is an alumnus of NDA and has pursued courses from prestigious National Defence University, Washington and National Defence University, Taiwan. Governor has done extensive research on contemporary border issues and has participated in numerous talks regarding the same. He is well known as a scholar on defence matters.

In his lecture, Governor has highlighted various security aspects pertaining to India including present conditions at our northern borders. The current dynamics of the country with our neighbors is now more important as India is an emerging superpower with a modern military. The talk has helped in broadening the horizon of the mid-level defence officers with respect to national efforts to develop infrastructure, increasing India’s operational capability and engagement in political-diplomatic options at various world forums.

Air Vice Marshal V Rajasekhar, Commandant, MILIT presented vote of thanks for Governor and thanked him for sharing his rich experience and in-depth knowledge on various national security aspects.
