Pune, 3rd April 2024: After he resigned from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Vasant More has been officially declared as the candidate for the Pune Lok Sabha seat by Prakash Ambedkar, founder president of Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi (VBA). This announcement has set the stage for a three-way electoral contest in Pune.

Throughout the past few weeks, More engaged in discussions with key leaders of the Mahavikas Aaghadi (MVA) in pursuit of securing a nomination for the Pune Lok Sabha seat. However, with BJP leader Muralidhar Mohol already nominated from Mahayuti, speculation arose regarding More’s potential candidacy as an independent candidate.

Last night, Prakash Ambedkar’s declaration of Vasant More’s candidature marked a significant development in the political landscape of Pune. More expressed gratitude for the opportunity and underscored his long-standing association with Raj Thackeray, spanning over 25 years.

Reflecting on his tenure as a corporator in the Pune Municipal Corporation, More emphasized the comprehensive development initiatives undertaken in the Katraj Ward, which he represented for 15 years. Despite facing challenges within the MNS and eventually parting ways, More affirmed his commitment to public service and expressed optimism about his electoral prospects. “I will be elected with a margin of at least 55,000 votes”, More said.

Addressing his candidacy, More emphasized his intention to refrain from personal attacks and focus on highlighting his track record of development and community service. He expressed confidence in garnering support from the citizens of Pune, citing his past achievements and his commitment to addressing pertinent issues facing the city.

More extended his gratitude to Prakash Ambedkar for the nomination and reiterated his dedication to representing the interests of the people of Pune. With the electoral battle now set to unfold, Vasant More is poised to navigate the political landscape with a blend of experience and determination, vying for victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
