Venture Center Wins Gold at Inaugural CII-AMTZ MedTech Quality Champion Awards 2024

Pune, 28th November 2024: Venture Center, India’s leading technology business incubator for science and technology startups, has been honored with the Gold Award in the Service Enterprise category at the inaugural CII-AMTZ MedTech Quality Champion Awards 2024. The award was presented at the 32nd CII Excellence Summit in Bengaluru on November 27, 2024. Chetna Dharmavat Dabi, Associate Manager – Regulatory Services at Venture Center, received the award from Dr. Jitendra Sharma, Managing Director and Founder CEO of Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ).

The CII-AMTZ MedTech Quality Champion Awards aim to foster a culture of excellence in the medtech industry, encouraging organizations to achieve higher standards in quality and innovation. Venture Center’s recognition underscores its outstanding services that empower medtech startups to innovate and thrive in the competitive healthcare sector.
Key contributors to this accolade include Venture Center’s ISO-certified MedTech Cleanroom, its regulatory support for Indian, European, and U.S. markets, and personalized mentoring for medtech startups. The center has also developed a comprehensive database and library of regulatory information, providing startups access to critical resources and service providers for standard tests and documentation.

Venture Center’s MedTech Cleanroom Facility, recently recertified for ISO 13485:2016, supports bio-entrepreneurs, startups, and larger enterprises in the manufacturing and packaging of medical devices. Over the years, this facility has played a pivotal role in assisting startups to obtain test licenses and adhere to stringent quality standards.

The Regulatory Information and Facilitation Center (RIFC) at Venture Center assists startups in navigating complex regulatory landscapes, including Indian regulations, EU MDR, and U.S. FDA requirements. RIFC also provides services such as document preparation, ISO 13485 internal audits, risk management, and clinical trial advice. Additionally, its R-Clinic initiative offers one-on-one mentoring, helping entrepreneurs address specific challenges with customized solutions.

To date, the RIFC has supported over 30 startups, facilitated 10 regulatory approvals, and assisted in obtaining 11 ISO certifications, with four medtech ventures achieving ISO certifications.
